Music on the Square comes back to downtown Oil City on July 9! Live music by Fred Oakman & the Flood in the Oil City Town Square – free admission and open to the public, so bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Come check out our shops, enjoy dinner downtown then kick back for an evening in the square!
In the past 20 years, Fred Oakman of Meadville, PA has toured the country belting out rock songs, only later to try his hand at a more refined & direct approach to songwriting. While it isn’t rare to catch a solo performance, Oakman has also been performing live with his backing band The Flood, which features Troy Messarall on lap steel guitar, Nate Kuhn on drums, and Jacob Peters on bass.
While we want everyone to come out and enjoy some live music in an outdoor setting, the safety of everyone attending is of primary concern. We ask that all who come to enjoy the music practice appropriate social distancing, and encourage everyone to wear face masks if they will be in close proximity with others. We want to have a great time, but we also want everyone to be responsible and stay safe.
“Music on the Square” was spearheaded by the Oil City Main Street Program in 2015. Performances are held from 7:00-9:00 pm on event days in the center paved area of the Oil City Town Square, and are free and open to the public. Attendees may bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Concerts are supported by the Jack Rowley Charitable Trust. For more information, contact the Oil City Main Street Office at (814) 677-3152 ext. 104.
